There is currently a big push towards gathering evidence for osteopathy on the NHS. As the spine unit at the QMC is the only secondary care unit in the country to offer osteopathy, it is leading this research.
 
A meeting in Westminster was held recently to consider research into the future of integrated services and the management of chronic back pain in the NHS. In attendance were by 24 leading healthcare academics, MPs from the government's health select committee, and members of the House of Lords with a special interest in healthcare and NHS policy. The research presentation was warmly received by the delegates, who expressed great interest in the study and supported the methods and objectives of the researchers.
