Dr. Nigil Sadanandan Palliyil graduated from the Government Medical College, Thrissur, Kerala, India in 2013. Following which he pursued his post-graduate training in Orthopaedic surgery(M.S) at the same institution from 2013-2016. He also holds a D.N.B degree in Orthopaedic surgery to his credit. Subsequently, he was selected for the prestigious 2 year spinal surgery (F.N.B) fellowship at the P.D.Hinduja National Hospital and MRC, Mumbai under the mentorship of Dr.Samir Dalvie and Dr.Kedar Deogaonkar, which he successfully completed in March 2019. During his spinal surgery training, he had exposure to the entire spectrum of spinal pathologies including degenerative conditions, trauma, infection and tumours.
Dr.Palliyil holds utmost interest in clinical research and has several publications in peer reviewed journals. He also has scientific presentations at various national and international spinal conferences
Dr.Palliyil had joined the spinal fellowship programme at the Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham University Hospitals in August 2019 to work with world-renowned spinal surgeons and to further enhance his knowledge and understanding of spinal surgery.
